CLASSROOM TRAINING
The first segment of this training addresses asbestos and lead awareness required by the Construction Safety Orders for employees who may encounter asbestos or lead on the job. The training includes identification, health hazards, mitigation requirements and specific issues related to public agencies. This segment meets the asbestos requirements of Cal-OSHA General Industry Safety Orders §1529(k)(9)(B), §5208(j)(7)(B), and §1529), and the lead requirements of Cal-OSHA General Industry Safety Orders §5198(l). The hazardous waste handler segment is required for employees who handle hazardous waste. The training covers definitions, regulatory requirements, storage, labeling, manifesting and inspection. It is required by the California and Federal EPA. This segment meets the requirements of OSHA 40 CFR §262.34(a)(4) and/or §265.16. The third segment, NPDES (storm water), is required for all employees by NPDES permit. This segment can be offered at the beginning or end of the session to facilitate scheduling. The segment includes importance, regulatory requirements, and best management practices for storage, cleaning, construction projects, repair and city maintenance. Regulation: General Industry Safety Order 1529, 5208, 5198, OSHA 40 CFR 262.34.
