Technology & Managing Risks in Email, Internet Blogs & Cell Phones
The benefits of this digital age have brought with them the perils of litigation. Any agency that sends and receives email, provides information or hyperlinks to the public from their website, or offers online documents and forms, is exposed to being sued for defamation, identity theft and invasion of privacy not to mention the impact your email and document storage systems have on the defense of lawsuits against your agency. This training will cover the basics of internet liability and provide you with some actual tools for making the use of the internet just a little safer from litigation. You will also be provided with the real email policy language that can be implemented immediately!
If you are a person with a disability and need an accommodation to participate, please contact the California JPIA training division by email, firstname.lastname@example.org, within two business days of the training date, noting that the Authority is closed on Fridays.
