The California JPIA held its 2024 Annual Meeting of the Board of Directors on Wednesday, July 24. The Board of Directors, comprising elected officials from 126 member agencies, governs the California JPIA. These agencies include 100 cities, 19 joint powers authorities, and seven special districts.
Executive Committee President Margaret Finlay, from the City of Duarte, welcomed delegates and greeted Foothill Transit, the Authority’s newest member. “You’re in good hands,” she said. CEO Alex Smith emphasized the Board’s role in keeping the Authority member-focused while presenting an operational overview and strategic plan.
Delegates reelected Mary Ann Reiss from the City of Pismo Beach as Executive Committee vice president. Tom Chavez, Steve Tye, Chuong Vo, and Mark Waronek were also reelected to two-year terms on the Executive Committee.
